Kfar Chabad was established in Tzafaria, a small townlet near Tel Aviv. The inhabitants made their living off farming.

The streets unpaved were and the homes were rundown. The elder of the town can tell about a wagon driver who would take people to the main road for a few cents, a twenty-minute walk from the center of town.
